We at Darnall Dental Clinic aim to provide the highest standard of care to all our patients, as demonstrated by our commitment to the BDA Good Practice scheme.

We provide both NHS and private treatments in a friendly, relaxed environment.

We encourage preventative measures, helping you to maintain good oral hygiene keeping you free oral diseases such as dental decay and gum disease. We provide oral health education to both adults and children. During school holidays our qualified dental nurse runs a clinic to provide preventative treatments and oral hygiene advice. This is free to patients under the age of 18 years.

Appointments Debts Before Visiting

If you have to cancel an appointment for any reason, then our practice requires 24 hours notice. This will then enable us to see other patients that may require urgent treatment. If you fail to provide 24hrs notice when cancelling, it will be recorded as a failure to attend an appointment.

If you fail to attend twice (including short-notice cancellations) then you will be unable to return to this practice for treatment and will be advised to find another dentist.

We have a responsibility to the NHS to record and confirm that you are eligible for exemption. You MUST bring the evidence for exemption to EVERY appointment. If you are uncertain or fail to provide the appropriate evidence you will be asked to pay for your treatment.

 

We expect you to pay the full amount due for your current treatment plan prior to completion of treatment.

If you do not return for the rest of your treatment you must pay for the treatment you have already undergone. 

We will send you reminders by post if you do not pay in full, or on time. If you fail to provide payment following postal reminders of an outstanding balance, we will pass your details on to our debt collection agency
.

Before attending for appointments please remember to eat and drink as normal before you attend, unless advised otherwise.

Also, we ask that a regular cleaning of your teeth and/or dentures be carried out before visiting the surgery.

Dental Care Accessibility Keep Us Informed

As a caring practice we take all necessary precautions to ensure that both patients and staff are protected from harm, including cross-infection.

As members of the BDA Good Practice Scheme, we undertake regular audits to ensure we maintain standards across the dental profession.

Our practice offers the latest equipment needed to follow the recommended guidelines in regards to sterilisation and disinfection.

 

Our practice provides full ground floor disabled facilities, including a disabled washroom and spacious surgery for wheelchair access.

If you are unable to use stairs, please let us know when you register for your first appointment so we can ensure you will be seen in a ground floor surgery.

We would be grateful if you could inform us of any changes of personal details, including address or telephone numbers as soon as possible.

Also, on regular visits we will present you with your medical history form to complete, which will help us to keep our records up to date on any medical conditions you may have or medications you may be taking.

Interpreters Complaints Confidentiality Policy

If you or a family member require an interpreter, please let as know at registration as the interpreting service require a number of days notice prior to appointments.

We may request an interpreter for you, even if you think it is unnecessary, as it is very important that you and our team are able to communicate such that you can give consent for any treatment we might plan for you.

If you need to cancel an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible, so that the interpreter can be cancelled as well.

If you have any complaint about the care or treatment that you have received at the Practice, please speak to our Practice Manager, Ms Jaqi Clarke, who will attempt to resolve the complaint according to the Practice’s Complaints Policy.

As health care professionals, we are bound by a duty of confidentiality to all our patients. Information will only be shared with any Heath Care Professional who is or has been involved with your care. All patients have the right to request to see their own Dental Record. Conversely, we will be unable to disclose details of treatment to a patient's partner without the consent of that patient.

Data Protection    

This Practice is fully compliant with the Data Protection Act. This Practice has a Confidentiality Policy and all members of staff will comply with existing legislation.
