A select number of practices throughout the country train Foundation Dentists (FDs), and the Darnall Dental Clinic is in its third year of training FDs, equipping them with the skills to undertake holistic treatment for patients in the context of a thriving NHS dental practice.

Vasileios Orliaklis
Principle Dentist DDS, MSc Sheffield
Dental Surgeon
Mr Orliaklis, practice principle, completed his Master’s degree in 1999 at Sheffield University on Restorative Dentistry with a special interest in Gerodontology/Prosthodontics and Endodontics.
He is also a member of the Residential Oral Care Sheffield (ROCS) group, responsible for providing care for the elderly in a residential environment. He is currently a FD1 trainer for the Sheffield scheme
Thomas Whiteley

Dental Surgeon
Mr Whiteley qualified from the University of Sheffield in 2009. Since then he has worked as a general dentist in Sheffield and also in Australia.
He has also worked as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield. He has a particular interest in restorative dentistry and oral surgery.

Mr Shah completed his DF1 in July 2010 with Mr Orliaklis and Mr Giannetopoulos at Darnall Dental Clinic. He is now a full-time associate at the practice.
